Ekspedisi was a group art exhibition by the Hulu Langat Drawing Art Club, held at Galeri Lukisan Balai Berita, The New Straits Times Press (NSTP), from 5th November to 4th December 2015. Sai Vijay was one of the participating artists and also the youngest among the group, while the other artists were already in their 30s, 40s, and 50s.

Vijay received the opportunity to participate in this exhibition through his mentor, Mr. Mohd Nizam Radzaly. Vijay first met Nizam when he used to visit a public library in his area, Semenyih. During one of his visits, Vijay noticed several artworks by Nizam displayed at the library and became eager to meet him in person. When he finally got the opportunity, Vijay introduced himself and shared his collection of artworks with Nizam.

At that time, Vijay was a 14-year-old teenager who was also interested in displaying his current artwork of Tunku Abdul Rahman at the library. Through this, Nizam was able to recognize Vijay’s artistic skills and became interested in inviting him to join the Hulu Langat Drawing Art Club. When Nizam discussed this decision with the other members, they initially lacked confidence in Vijay, but Nizam trusted his potential.

Vijay began participating in his first exhibition at the age of 15, alongside nine other painters, at the New Straits Times Press, Bangsar, in 2015. As a result of the exhibition, his artworks and background were featured in newspapers such as The New Straits Times, Berita Harian, Harian Metro, and others. One of his artworks, titled Refreshment, was the first piece to be sold on the opening day of the exhibition.

This moment marked a turning point, as the other artists congratulated Vijay and began to place their trust and confidence in him. On 5th November 2015, the exhibition was successfully launched by the owner of the Petronas Pelangi Semenyih Branch.
